Changing the Font & Style of Your H1 Tags

QUESTION: (Rhonda) I am having problems changing the font size of my H1text. Is this very important? If so, how do I go about changing it?

Changing the text and/or style of an H1 tag is simple in CSS.  It does not affect anything other than how the visitor sees it though (i.e., if you use a large font, it means nothing more than a smaller font, in SEO terms or how Google sees it).

You can change the H1 tag locally or in the CSS definition file.

If you want to change all of the H1 tag settings in your entire website, you would do this in the CSS file:

h1 {
font-size: 24px;
}

You would use the h1 tag as you normally would:
<h1>This is my H1 tag</h1>

You can define a class in the CSS file which allows you to define your new style whenever you wish anywhere on the site:

.h1style {
font-size: 24px;
}

You would add this class to your h1 tag, when you wish it:

<h1 class=”h1style”>This is my H1 Tag</h1>

* Remember to add the “.” when defining it in the CSS to classify it as a class.

Finally, you can do it locally using a style attribute (without the CSS file):

<h1 style=”font-size:24px;”>This is my H1 Tag</h1>

All of the above do the exact same thing.  Their use is based on how often you use the style and how you want it defined (whether globally or locally).

Also, remember you can add other styles to the same definition (like color):

<h1 style=”font-size:24px; color:red;”>This is my H1 Tag that is Red and 24px high</h1>

I find that being able to change the styles of my text for header and other standard tags to be quite invaluable!  Knowing a little bit of CSS can go a long way.  Give this a try!

The easiest thing to try first is the local definition using the style attribute. If this is working for you, consider creating or editing your own CSS file!

Good luck!  cheers…matt

Who is Behind Marketing Mind?

Matthew Bredel begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlightingMy name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer. For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

Formula 5 Review: Lead Landslide

The third part in the series is about:
More Leads = More Money
If you don’t know this already then you are missing out on a huge slice of that pie!
This is the most important section and my favorite. By putting into practice what I was taught in Lead Landslide I was able to up my lead [...]

Formula 5 Review: Sale Stackers

In the second part, the concept is also simple:
Leverage your customers to make the maximum amount of profit.
This means building a relationship with your customers so they will come back to you and buy repeatedly. Too many of us are just trying to make a quick buck and are not valuing customers as lifetime buyers.
In [...]

Formula 5 Review: Margin Magnifier

In this first part, the concept is simple:
Increase the price of your product = Make More Money.
OK, that sounds pretty stupid (because it sounds too easy), but many people (including myself many times) charge TOO LITTLE for our products.
If you are online trying to compete using pricing, you will probably lose.  Trying to compete with [...]

StomperNet’s Formula 5 Review

I find myself kicking myself that I did not take part in the trial of this program.  As a reviewer, I sometimes get “press” versions of upcoming programs and StomperNet’s Formula 5 is no exception.
It first came in this “box” with module 1 already included.
The box is very cool (though, like I complain about in [...]

Arbitrage Conspiracy Review (Pt 3) - 3-Step Plan

So what do these two guys from the Arbitrage Conspiracy actually do to make $50k-$100k/day?
In the video, I outline a simple 3-Step plan that they seem to implement in nearly all of their campaigns.
Step 1 - Identify an Offer to Promote
In this step, they usually go to free CPA Networks and browse over the various [...]

Arbitrage Conspiracy Review (Part 1)

…it’s coming.
As you probably know, I attended this “InnerMastermind Event” about two weeks ago. It was essentially free to me (by invite, but others actually paid $10,000 to attend!) and I really didn’t know what to expect.
Let me tell you what is going on (and what is about to come!).
The purpose of the “meet-up” was [...]

Stompernet’s Worst Nightmare…

I have actually had this nightmare before as an internet marketer!
You know, the one where launch day comes and you think everything is all set and then just before the gates open, something major has gone wrong!
I’ve been doing my best to promote the new Stomping the Search Engines 2.0 (because I’ve seen it and [...]

Stompernet: What is The Net Effect?

I just returned from Atlanta a couple of days ago to find a package in the mail from StomperNet which included a DVD-ROM sample of Stomping the Search Engines 2 and a “journal” (as they prefer to call it) called The Net Effect.
What’s going on?
At StomperNet Live in Atlanta, there were rumors that Stomping the [...]

Traffic Secrets 2.0 Review - Update

I finally got it!  It took a little bit longer than I expected but I received my Traffic Secrets 2.0 package in the mail yesterday.  Was it worth the wait?  Well, I got everything that I expected, and a whole lot more.  The CD-ROMs were there and the book was quite impressive. [...]

John Reese, Traffic Secrets, and “The Numbers”

No, this video is not about the bazillion dollars you will make if you buy John Reese’s Traffic Secrets. Rather, they are the facts about the product, its popularity and what it includes. Is the Traffic Secrets 2.0 hype worth it, what does it cost, what do you get (and will you make money with [...]
