Article Marketing: Quality Vs Quantity

QUESTION: (Anonymous) How do you differentiate a quality article from a quantity article?

This is an interesting question because how do you define a “good quality” article and why would you strive to create a bad one?

When I think of “Quality Article”, I am referring to an article that its purpose is to entice readers, create followers, and provide the reader unbelievable content.  I usually personally write these articles or I may pay a well-established (usually pricey) writer to do it for me.  These types of articles I usually put on my own websites as well as places where my name and my authority may be recognized (like eZineArticles, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

Now the “Quantity Article” is usually done for the sole purpose of creating backlinks.   These DO need to be readible and usually the quality is not too bad.  Still, I usually would pay a lower priced author to write these types of articles and I may even go the extra step of “spinning” the article.  The can produce a lot of unique articles (and hopefully good backlinks) without the cost.

In fact, I usually have the “Quantity Articles” linking back to the “Quality Articles”, among other things.  It is just good SEO and Social Media Practice.

cheers…matt

Matthew BredelMy name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer. For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

Understanding Clickbank Gravity

One of the most misunderstood concepts in all of information product affiliate marketing focuses around Clickbank and its Gravity score. Understand that Gravity is NOT a measure of popularity of a product or its sales. Is Reciprocal Linking Dead?

I was looking over my emails last night and I came across one of those silly link exchange emails.  You know the ones I am talking about:
It is entirely computer generated where you can see all of those statistics of your website conveniently placed and highlighted in the text.  Further, it gives you a 3 [...]

Holy Smoke! What a Week…

Yes, I know that this would not classify this as my most SEO friendly title or topic for that matter. And frankly, some days I just don’t want to do that (it takes too much effort to think that hard!). Is there any SEO strategy in NOT being SEO? Probably! But [...]

Google Adwords Quality (and Improving It!)

One of the biggest mysteries of pay-per-click advertising is trying to figure what Google Adwords thinks is “quality”. As we know, minimum bid prices and ad placement is a function of your text ad and landing page. But how do we know what is good and of “high quality”? Google provides us with a qualitative [...]

Flip’ping You Off!

Yes, I am Flip’ping you off today! The Flip camera, that is. I got one of these a few months ago and it has changed the way we make videos. I originally bought it for business and video blogging (on location), but it has become the camcorder of choice in my household. The Flip camera, [...]

Giving Blip the Boot!

Some of you may have noticed a few things going on with my blog lately:

Some of my videos seem to have disappeared
Some of my videos look different now

Let me explain what happened (and vent a little bit while I am at it!).
When I started video blogging at the beginning of the year, I went through [...]

Do You WASTE Time Branding?

As I sit being tortured by my kids at California Adventure, I start to ponder the significance of the Disney brand name (and that fact that I own everything under the sun with this brand name on it, no matter what it is). The power of branding is extraordinary, but as beginning online marketers, some [...]

(Over) Exposed in Maui

I actually taped this a couple of days ago, but Blip .tv has decided to screw around with me (which I will explain in my next blog).  So this post is a little bit late, but it is kind of fun.  Here, I struggled with using my cheap webcam on vacation to handle the bright [...]
