Htaccess and Redirects for Dummies
February 10th, 2009 at 7:58 pmMatt,
Oh my gosh this looks very easy.I wish I’d seen this post last year when you wrote it!
I say ‘oh my gosh’ because I broke 12 of my websites when I tried to do something like this a few months ago. The nice people at hostgator fixed it for me which was nice of them but didn’t teach me what I did wrong.
So…next week I’m going to see if I can do another one myself. Let’s hope I don’t break anything. LOL.
The Most Useful Social Networking Site Of All
December 16th, 2008 at 8:39 pmI agree, Jay. I forgot to say how much fun social networking can be! I can’t even tell you how many new ideas have been sparked for me from conversations with my peers or from lurking in online water coolers.
Thanks

Home Based Business Ergonomics

Freelancers Competing With India Outsourcing
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:54 amIn my opinion, many buyers who pay for low quality articles soon go looking for more experienced writers when they realize they’ve wasted the money they’ve spent. I have seen many qualified English speaking writers in overseas countries too so I’m not saying you cannot find good English quality outside of the UK or North America. I do often get hired to help clients sort out poorly written projects and they come to realize it’s better to pay for higher quality once than face delays, frustration and pay twice because you’ve chosen the cheap route the first time around.
My suggestion is to look for other ways of getting work beyond the bidding sites which seem to be famous for low paying work with stiff competition. Look to classified networks and freelance writing job sites as well as Craigslist and writing forums. Networking with other writers has gotten me some of my best leads for lucrative work. It’s also a good idea to create your own professional website that showcases your work and then learn SEO to bring clients to you.
Best of luck and thanks for commenting!

Finding the Best Free Wordpress Theme
February 9th, 2008 at 10:05 amHey Matt,
We must be in parallel universes at the moment because I’ve been shopping around as well. I’ve recently starting building a few sites and wanted a WP magazine theme. I am at a point now where I’ve changed the theme three times in two places waiting for something to grow on me and feel right. I was playing with one called Structure which I found at a friend’s blog and my selection du jour is Delectio (found at Smashing Mag) which is starting to grow on me. Looking forward to seeing the new look
