Well, I am sure you see that little symbol all over the place:

This is the link for an RSS feed. So what is it and what does it stand for?
Well, RSS stands for “Real Simple Syndication”. And it is just that! It is a way to syndicate the new content that you (or anyone else for that matter) creates on their blog, website (even videos!).
Content management systems, such as Wordpress Blogs, have built-in functions to create these feeds. So, every time that I create a new post, Wordpress is smart enough to create a new addition to my existing RSS feed. And just as it states, it is in a very simple format!
The RSS Feed for this blog looks something like this:

Essentially, a title and an excerpt. These can be used as your personal data feed!
And there are tools that are available that read these RSS feeds as a standard news reader. You get the headlines and if you want to read more, you can read the whole story, comment on the story or visit that site.
Do you see how this can be useful? I personally use the Google Reader, which is a part of my Gmail account to organize the websites and blogs I follow most. This IS my morning newspaper, and it is personalized to just what I want to see.
If you ever find yourself returning to websites or blogs to see if anything has changed or been updated, you are wasting your time. That is what RSS feeds and readers are for.
The video above goes into more detail about what an RSS feed is and how you can use RSS feeds to create your own custom news channels!
Not enough people take advantage of RSS Feeds!
(And you can ALWAYS start by subscribing to my own RSS feed at here!)

Don't Buy Another Money Making Product Until You Watch These FREE Videos! |
My name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer.
For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...
Matt,
I didn’t see the video. If you want you can link to my video on this subject What Is RSS. I found many people on the web that didn’t understand RSS.

Excellent post and a nice video that explains RSS feeds. People do have problems understanding what it is, but this post of yours is sure to make it simple. Great work.
