Article Marketing: Quality Vs Quantity

QUESTION: (Anonymous) How do you differentiate a quality article from a quantity article?

This is an interesting question because how do you define a “good quality” article and why would you strive to create a bad one?

When I think of “Quality Article”, I am referring to an article that its purpose is to entice readers, create followers, and provide the reader unbelievable content.  I usually personally write these articles or I may pay a well-established (usually pricey) writer to do it for me.  These types of articles I usually put on my own websites as well as places where my name and my authority may be recognized (like eZineArticles, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

Now the “Quantity Article” is usually done for the sole purpose of creating backlinks.   These DO need to be readible and usually the quality is not too bad.  Still, I usually would pay a lower priced author to write these types of articles and I may even go the extra step of “spinning” the article.  The can produce a lot of unique articles (and hopefully good backlinks) without the cost.

In fact, I usually have the “Quantity Articles” linking back to the “Quality Articles”, among other things.  It is just good SEO and Social Media Practice.

Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

YouTube High Quality

I actually stumbled across this a few months ago when I upgraded to Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.  Here, there was an output option for MP4 (which they call Sony AVC MP4).  Under the rendering options, there was a YouTube High Quality output for MP4.  So I tried it.

Sony Vegas

After uploading to YouTube, I noticed that after about 10 minutes, my video had two viewing options (one that included a High Quality) option.

WOW!  Very cool and so easy.  In fact, the MP4 file is smaller than most of the other output formats while allowing this special High Quality YouTube Feature.  In addition, I have found that MP4’s run quite well using a newer version of Flash Player.

Video Rendering Bliss!

So if you don’t have Sony Vegas Movie Studio, you can still generate a YouTube High Quality video by outputting your video file into the following format:

Type:  MP4 (h.264) AVC/AAC

Audio: AAC > 44khz, Stereo

Size: 640x480 (or larger)

Sample Rate: > 1000 kbps (1Mbps)

Frame Rate: > 25 fps

Now one quick thing to point out here!  Recently I just upgraded to Camastia v6.0 just to get this MP4 rendering option, but I found that the video would NOT convert to High Quality on YouTube.  I believe this is because the current revision will only allow up to 15 fps (frame rate).

Camtasia

I have currently inquired with Camtasia about this and they are aware of it and working for a fix in the next update.  Stay tuned!  (Camastia in Hiqh Quality for YouTube would be AWESOME!).
