While some people are panicking about how the economic recession is affecting their 401(k)s and other investments, for me and my family as well as many others the concerns are a bit different. With little to no savings or investments, and for the most part facing a paycheck-to-paycheck situation, job loss or other financial crisis could put us in way over our heads.
For this reason, finding additional ways to bring in income is a consistent goal of mine. I’m always trying to find ways to supplement my writing income. I have spent a lot of time researching various online business opportunities, hoping to find the golden ticket to major financial success. I dream of bringing in enough money so that my husband could be a teacher again—his life’s calling—instead of having to work for a big corporation to make ends meet. However, with little money in the reserves, I can’t gamble with risky online opportunities. I have to know it is going to work for me, which is why I’m still in the research phase.
The thing I’m learning more and more is that there really isn’t a “golden ticket” or a magical get-rich-quick business plan. Any business—online or offline—takes a lot of time and energy. It also requires action. This is the scary part. I am comfortable researching for weeks on end, but when it comes down to making a move, fear sets in. Fear of failure. Fear of the unknown. Even more, fear of losing money!
However, reading the success stories of people who have achieved success and financial freedom through online business encourages me. I also know that I possess skills, such as writing, researching, advertising and marketing, which will serve me well in any online business venture.
So how do I move onto the next step and become proactive in my quest for online business success? I think planning and goal setting are key. Once I can determine what my goals are, I can choose one and work toward it. Even if I take baby steps toward Goal One, I am still making progress, rather than just researching the same things over and over.
Perhaps someday I will be one of the great online business success stories–maybe even during the recession. Now…I just have to decide the best avenue….E-books? Blogs? Content sites? Domain Selling? E-commerce?

My name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer.
For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

Are there more testimonials around the site?
