As someone who left the 9-5-office job world almost five years ago, I am always searching for new and different ways to make money from home. During this time I have had many close encounters with multilevel marketing companies. While I’ve never taken the bait, I have had two sit-down, face-to-face meetings with recruiters for a couple of different MLMs.
The multilevel marketing recruiter messages have been so exciting and hopeful that I have come “this close” to considering jumping on board. However, as I saw dollar signs flash before my eyes, my brain snapped back to reality and I decided to do some solid research before making any decisions. Each time the research has always led me to just say no to MLMs. There are just too many negative reports and scorned former MLMers out there to feel confident enough to hand over my monetary investment to these companies.
Even more than the money, the idea of annoying my friends and family is a big turn-off for me. The last thing I want to become is the person who causes people to go to a different room when I come through the door. I’ve known MLMers before who have this affect. You just know if they invite you to lunch that they have recruiting plans in mind. Not even the most delicious café sandwich is worth having to listen to them regurgitate their MLM creeds and empty promises.
Ultimately, I have chosen more secure paths to making money online. I prefer jobs that do not require me to give up a large percentage of my income to the people above me. After all, I spent several years of my life filling the pockets of company CEOs before I left the business world to work from home. Why would I want to go back to a business model that doesn’t fully value my hard work, and instead rewards the big dogs at the top?

My name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer.
For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...
