OK, I admit it! I “stole” the name “Evil Middleman” from Rob Crowie. I just like it, so I went with it!
So what makes a person a middle man and why are they evil?
First, they are not necessarily “evil”, but in product sourcing, they are a big mistake!
Middlemen are essentially online retailers claiming to be wholesalers and dropshippers who offer prices lower than retail, but sell them to you, as a resaler, at prices higher than wholesale.
They are “in the middle”.
Sure, these sites can make product sourcing easy, but you are paying for it! And in most cases, these middleman websites can sell to anyone (consumers and resalers). Therefore, not only are you buying from them, but they can possibly be your direct competition, too.
The moral? Avoid Middleman when sourcing products! Go directly to the manufacturer or their distributor! You can also use a service like Worldwide Brands to identify “true” wholesalers and dropshippers in your field.
Watch the video to learn how to first identify middlemen on the internet and then take the action to find true suppliers in your niche!

My name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer.
For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

Very nice. Perfect way of discovering the “Middleman”. You have brought a new vision to me when searching.
Thanks

After “understanding” what and how the middleman works, I see the internet in a whole new light, too. (I gotta admit, when I buy things now as a consumer, this is what I look for!) cheers…matt

[...] I find this a fair question because I have spent a bit of time explaining what a middleman is and why to avoid them (specifically, my post “The Evil Middleman“). [...]
