Over the past month, I have received a few HUNDRED emails from a company called ContactThem.com offering to pay me up to $4800/month to put advertising on my website. The email includes a lot of good statistics and WHOIS data about my website, and so thought it would be worth a look.
As expected, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. In this case, ContactThem is sugar-coating their affiliate marketing program with the word “advertising”. For one, I find the tactic to be rather misleading and offensive and two, the fact that I receive about 4 emails per day constitutes it as nothing more than a SPAM ring. Even if the product was good, I would be damned to help promote it!

Don't Buy Another Money Making Product Until You Watch These FREE Videos! |
My name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer.
For close to 10 years, I worked for a defense company which was an OK job, but I was so uninspired in life and frankly, I needed some more money. That is when I first discovered internet marketing! Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for your reply, I didn’t mean to offend you by offering you the “ads” from Contactthem,I just follow the instruction from the program, however I offer the “ads” in good intention.
Please do not get emotionalised, look at this from the other angles, I myself are being bombarded with hundreds of emails everyday from all sorts of offers including Contactthem.Normally I would ignore most of the offer except some interesting one that catch my attention.
Even though ContactThem is sugar-coating their affiliate marketing program,I think it is a great program even better that Adsense. Why? ContactThem only place one banner ad on our website and the reward is tremendous because we get the share of the revenue thanks to the affiliate format. However what Adsense do is even more irritating, when I install Adsense in one of my website they put tens or even hundreds of ads & banners on my website, what do I get? A lousy $10 to $20 per month, because we don’t have a chance to share the revenue, we only make Google richer.ContactThem is different, everybody got a share of the revenue, and they pay 10 levels deep in another word everybody got a chance to make a fortune.
Another point is that, they have a very sophiscated soft way which can send email virtually to every website automatically one by one, from your point of view it might be irritating or even considered as spam. But I think differently, due to the fact that the softway is relatively easy to use any newbie will master it in a very short time and begin to make money even though they are new to Internet marketing. What I am trying to say is :it provide opportunities for the less fortunate to participate in this new age of Internet.
: it level the playing field, not only the big fish will get the giant share but everybody.
If everybody think like you, then the newbie will not have a chance to participate and grow.
I take this opportunity to share with you my experience in Internet business. I am from Asia, I am a qualified engineer and business owner.
During my recruitment process for my various programs I came across many types of people and problems face by them, from Asia as well as Africa, they are educated and are very keen to learn and try to make a living from Internet.A lots of things we take for granted, they don’t have.Like job opportunities, online banking,credit/debit card and the most important of all no money. If nobody help them I don’t think they can participate and make a living on Internet or should I say to make some extra money to help support their family. They cann’t even open a Paypal account in their area.
Currently I am initiating a Project to assist these people, a few thousand of them. Mostly unemployed but educated housewife in rural India, unemployed men and wemen in several countries in Africa. All are very keen to make a living from Internet but lack knowhow, tools and fund.
Thanks for your patient and would like to apologise for sending you the “ads” offer.
Sincerely,
Hangal Ng

Again, you are trying to tell me that this is advertising but it is just affiliate marketing. If you are looking for banners to put on your website and if you are looking for a Pay-Pay-Action type of response, any affiliate marketing product will work. If you wanted to put a NetWebVideo banner on your website, for example, you just sign up as my affiliate, I have about a half-dozen to choose from, post it on your site and if someone joins up, you receive $90. Don’t get Pay-Per-Click (like Google Adsense) and Per-Per-Action (like this affiliate marketing program is) confused. They are quick different…cheers…matt

It is a plain affiliate program that borders on being a scam. Note the words “up to”. Also read the fine print on the affiliate page. I received this email too. A quick glance at their small print reveals the details. Personally I don’t like their marketing technique.

Mat I too received this email. What would you know my suspicions were right. Thank you for the heads up.

Im so glad that you feel the same way I do. Shame on Mr. Ng for STILL trying to sell you! I hope people read your blog and spam him. I actually found out some really crazy info about them -
You know how all these people are *claiming* that ContactThem is “actually not bad” and “pays well” - thats a huge load of b.s.
The fact of the matter is that ContactThem has set up the system so people can’t make money. But since none of these shotgun marketers have actually TAKEN THE TIME TO READ the FAQS, they dont actually know what they are promoting! Its almost funny! If you want to read all the dirt I found on Contact Them, the shady owner and his other scams, check out this article: paidopps.blogspot.com/2008/03/contactthemcom-scam-rip-off-no-pay.html

I have received the same kind of mail several times, but each time i try to visit their website i get error message. May be they have gotten the require number of magas? But if they are really true they should have done something.
I have not seen anybody that says they are ok!
