Article Marketing: Quality Vs Quantity

QUESTION: (Anonymous) How do you differentiate a quality article from a quantity article?

This is an interesting question because how do you define a “good quality” article and why would you strive to create a bad one?

When I think of “Quality Article”, I am referring to an article that its purpose is to entice readers, create followers, and provide the reader unbelievable content.  I usually personally write these articles or I may pay a well-established (usually pricey) writer to do it for me.  These types of articles I usually put on my own websites as well as places where my name and my authority may be recognized (like eZineArticles, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

Now the “Quantity Article” is usually done for the sole purpose of creating backlinks.   These DO need to be readible and usually the quality is not too bad.  Still, I usually would pay a lower priced author to write these types of articles and I may even go the extra step of “spinning” the article.  The can produce a lot of unique articles (and hopefully good backlinks) without the cost.

In fact, I usually have the “Quantity Articles” linking back to the “Quality Articles”, among other things.  It is just good SEO and Social Media Practice.

Matthew BredelMy name is Matthew Bredel and as of March, 2007, I am a full-time, work-at-home internet marketer. Now I admit that I didn't start making thousands in my first couple of months (in fact, I lost my shirt!), but I finally saw the "internet light"...

What is the secret to creating a self-sustaining online business? The answer is simple: Automation! I am not talking about outsourcing, either. Automation can be cheap while doing most of the work for you (and probably better than you could do it, too!)

One of the most important (and desirable) aspects of building a home based internet business revolves around the ability to automate the business.  I am NOT necessarily talking about a Timothy Ferriss 4-Hour Work Week outsourcing dream.  This is actually different and I think many people get confused about the two.

The main difference is that most automation is done using technology while outsourcing is done manually by a human (though, I argue that some tasks I do could probably be done by a monkey, a lab rat or a gerbil).

Understand the difference because it is crucial!  I have seen too many people outsource their businesses (and their profits!) away when simple automation would have been easier, more cost effective and more efficient.

Outsource only when it is necessary!  It is amazing what a simple programming script can achieve these days: an email autoresponder, a purchase order, product fulfillment - even customer service to some extent!  And in most cases, these automation tools are already available and usually relatively inexpensive (either as one-time purchases or low monthly fees).

Since I have been away in Australia, I have found my automation to be essential.  My online business can run seamlessly with minimal interaction.  Sure, I do still outsource some tasks or do them myself, but remember that automation is the KEY to success and growth online.  If you build your wealth online with automation, you CAN create self-managing money making machines which provides you with more time and resources to create multiple streams of income (or provide you with more time to spend in places like Australia!)
